To commemorate Workers Memorial Day on April 28, 2007, the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) honored the memory of workers killed by asbestos in the workplace.  According to the organization, asbestos is still the number one occupational carcinogen and causes 54% of all deaths due to occupational cancers.

The ADAO, founded by asbestos victims and their families in 2004, seeks to give asbestos victims a united voice to help ensure their rights are fairly represented and protected.  The ADAO also strives to raise public awareness about the dangers of asbestos and the diseases caused by asbestos exposure.  For more information, visit www.asbestosdiseaseawareness.org.
